We make these resources available to ensure that the American public's right to information maintained at our command is protected. This USJFCOM FOIA Requester Service Center is the initial point of contact for FOIA requesters to receive status updates and appropriate information about requests at USJFCOM. Any requesters who have concerns about the service they are receiving from this FOIA Requester Service Center can raise their concerns with the Defense Department's FOIA Public Liaison, Mr. Jim Hogan at (703) 696-4703 or foia.liaison@whs.mil. USJFCOM handles FOIA requests for command directorates and its subordinate commands. FOIA requesters who have any questions concerning the processing of their requests with the USJFCOM FOIA Requester Service Center should contact the command FOIA officer at (757) 836-7138.
Describe the specific record(s) you are seeking with enough detail so that officials may locate the record without much effort. Such detail should include descriptive information, time-frame to be searched, etc. The more information provided, the better opportunity there is to determine if the records would still exist and their location. The FOIA states that records must exist at the time the request is submitted to be considered. State your willingness to pay all fees or those up to a specified amount or provide justification to support a fee waiver. Agreements to pay fees are considered to be up to $250.00, unless another amount is specified.
